Ballot Box Bingo
Rating: 0/5Bingo is absolutely HUGE right now. In fairness, it’s never not been a big deal, bingo halls have been around forever and online bingo is increasing at such a speed it’s a wonder it hasn’t smashed through the stratosphere and caused the Armageddon – there are more ways to play, more ways to enjoy, and above all else, hundreds of way to smile with the recent advancements the bingo universe is bringing to its beloved fans on a yearly basis.
There are not many games you can adapt to be played in absolutely any way you choose, most have stringent rules and a great many of them at that, which means the basic mechanics are simply too complicated to transfer or adapt for other playing styles or themes. Luckily, Bingo does not suffer from these restraints, and as a result, people have been getting SERIOUSLY creative in the way they play their favourite game by inventing original, fun, challenging, and genuinely crazy new ways to enjoy their game.
There is one thing that everybody jointly shares in both their intrigue and dismay for periodically throughout their lives – you might be thinking of any number of things here, but the definitive answer is without doubt the election. Brothers, sisters, US, UK, Male or Female, it’s happening. It’s happening and you have no conceivable way of escaping it. So what do you do? How do we jointly get through this tiring, stressful and infuriating period without losing our fragile minds? The answer is very simple. Make fun out of it! And that’s exactly what’s happened. Someone has turned the election into a game of bingo, and it’s GREAT fun. The mechanics are simple, instead of bingo counters, you’re working with phrases – not just any phrases, but the one’s you’ve come to expect at every election. All the “we’re currently undertaking action…” and “there were plans in place and we’re still on schedule for completion” nonsensical, manipulative and downright meaningless sentences you’ve come to both love and hate from your favourite people to dislike are the bread and butter of this new game. Match two of the same phrase types throughout the speech and…BINGO!
It’s a devilishly fun way to take the irritation and bore out of something that we’re all mercilessly trapped by and, even though we feel passionately about the result, no one can deny that it gets immensely boring having to sit through no end of jargon on television before we can get to the bits that actually matter to us or have meaning in our lives – the genius of this new spin on a traditional classic is its simplicity and adaptability. It can even be turned into a drinking game, and the fact it completely makes fun of all the parts of the election we truly can’t stand is pure brilliance.
You’ve got to give this a go! If you love bingo, and regardless of whether you love or hate the election (just turn the bingo phrases into a law that you actually WANT passing or mentioning, or any other positive you want to draw from your parties speech) you’re guaranteed to have a world of fun. Try it.
